Our high-rise buildings
For historic reasons, Hastoe manages some homes in urban areas. We have four high-rise blocks across the south of England:
- Tower Heights, Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire (built in 1964)
- Victor Court, Hornchurch, Essex (built in 1964-65)
- Chichester House, Plymouth, Devon (built in 1968)
- Menlo Gardens, Beulah Hill, London (built in 1969)

Safety guidance
To help keep you and your neighbours safe, please follow these simple steps:
- Dispose of rubbish correctly by using the communal bins provided. Please ensure waste is bagged and placed inside to avoid attracting pests.
- Keep balconies clear of flammable materials. Avoid storing items such as cardboard boxes or other combustible materials.
- Keep corridors and stairwells clear. Do not leave items like doormats, plant pots or personal belongings in these areas as they are trip hazards and can block escape routes during an evacuation.
- Close communal doors behind you. This helps maintain the building’s security and fire safety.
- Store bikes in the bike shed.
Together, these small actions make a big difference in keeping everyone safe.
Evacuation needs
Please let us know if your circumstances have changed and you would like to discuss your evacuation arrangements. For example, if your mobility needs mean you may no longer be able to self-evacuate, we can help review your evacuation plan.
