Hastoe takes home Sussex Heritage Trust Award

Hastoe South Development team has won the ‘Large Scale Residential Award’ at the 2017 Sussex Heritage Trust Awards for the affordable housing scheme at Ostlers Field, Brede.
The awards, which are in their 19th year, are designed to recognise and reward the highest quality conservation, restoration and design of newly built projects from across Sussex.

Ostlers Field is a rural development of ten dwellings for affordable rent and three homes for shared ownership. All homes were built to Sustainable Homes Code 4, which exceeds current building regulation standards and allows residents to benefit from lower energy costs.

Karen Hillhouse, Hastoe Regional Head of Development for the south, said: “We are thrilled that our affordable housing development in Brede has been recognised by these awards.

“Hastoe takes great pride in helping rural communities thrive by building affordable, energy efficient homes that fit with the local vernacular of the village. The homes at Ostlers Field have helped ensure that local families can stay living in and contributing to the area that they were born in, grew up in or work in.

"This fantastic achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all our staff at Hastoe and our commitment to providing high quality, affordable homes for the people of rural communities. Congratulations to all who were involved in bringing forward these homes for the local people of Brede and Broad Oak.”
