Hastoe and Hampshire Village Homes appointed by HARAH

Hastoe Housing Association, a major provider of affordable rural housing across the south of England and a member of Hampshire Village Homes, has been appointed by HARAH (Hampshire Alliance for Rural Affordable Housing) to deliver much needed affordable homes in rural Hampshire.

Hampshire Village Homes is a group made up of five housing providers – English Rural Housing Association, Hastoe Housing Association, New Forest Villages Housing Association, Petersfield Housing Association, and Winchester Housing Trust who will be working together to deliver at least 50 new rural affordable homes per year across Hampshire.

HARAH, formed in 2005, aims is to increase the supply of affordable housing in the rural villages of Hampshire, to ensure local people are able to afford to live in the places where they were brought up, work, or have family connections, and in doing so to help strengthen rural communities.

Karen Hillhouse, Regional Head of Development for the south at Hastoe, said: “Hastoe are delighted that Hampshire Village Homes has been selected to be HARAH’s development partner. We are keen to share good practice  and lead the partnership successfully, building much needed new homes for local people in Hampshire’s villages.”
