Hastoe Takes Home Design Award

Hastoe has taken home the ‘Design Award’ in the Sustainability Category at the Mid Sussex Design Awards.

The award, presented by the Rt. Hon Sir Nicholas Soames, MP, was given in recognition of the Pheasantry in Crawley Down. The Pheasantry, designed by PCKO Architects, is a Passivhaus scheme, manufactured with timber frame by Allwood Timber. Comprised of 22 homes for affordable rent and four for shared ownership, the scheme was built by PMC Construction.

Elizabeth Leyland, Development Manager at Hastoe, said: “We are thrilled that The Pheasantry has been honoured with this award and the judges considered this passivhaus development to be an example of excellence in rural housing. The Mid Sussex Design Awards are only held every three years, so we are delighted to win in the face of strong competition.

“Given our dedication to bringing sustainable homes to sustainable communities, it’s great to receive an award recognising those beliefs.”
