The homes transferred from Spectrum Group, after Hastoe were selected as the preferred bidder last year.

“I joined our local team at a series of road shows in January to get to know our newest residents before the handover. We have already received really useful feedback which will help us to deliver excellent local service and support in the years to come.

We have a far reaching community development programme and look forward to helping residents and their neighbours take decisions and actions about the places where they live. ”

Notes to Editors

Hastoe frontline housing team are one of six in the running for the CIH Inside Housing ‘Housing Heroes’ Tenant Empowerment Team of the Year 2010.

• Spectrum Housing Group owns and manages over 17,000 homes throughout the South, South West and Midlands.  Spectrum Housing Group made the decision to sell their homes in North Devon and Torridge in 2010 when it became clear that to improve the services received by residents, the Associations needed to be delivering local and accessible services. Without an office in the locality it was agreed that the best option would be to sell homes to another housing association experienced in managing rural homes and delivering services at a local level. A full consultation process has been followed and residents have been involved in the selection process.
