Salary: £24,380-£25,207 pa, dependent on location
Location: Hybrid (home-based/attendance at Kingston-upon-Thames office once a week, with additional travel as required)

About the role
This is a new role in Hastoe’s small but passionate Communications and Engagement Team, and a perfect opportunity for someone keen to build a career in PR and communications, especially in a public sector environment.
Our Communications Assistant will play a pivotal role in helping to plan and deliver Hastoe’s internal and external communications activities and campaigns, aligned to our very clear purpose: to provide a level of service that meets our customers’ expectations and to build high-quality, affordable homes that support sustainable, rural communities.
This role also involves supporting the Communications and Engagement team with administrative tasks as needed.
Responsibilities will include:
- Providing colleagues with communications support, monitoring the team inbox and acting as the first point of contact for requests and enquiries.
- Updating Hastoe’s external communication channels e.g. website, intranet, newsletters and leaflets, with a regular flow of news and content.
- Maintaining and updating Hastoe’s internal communications channels.
- Assisting in the organisation and delivery of events, for colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Assisting with the organisation, communication and delivery of Hastoe’s resident engagement activities.
- Supporting Hastoe’s media and stakeholder engagement activity as required.
- Assisting the Communications Team with a range of administrative activities.

About you
Our ideal Communications Assistant will have:
- Genuine enthusiasm for building a career in PR and communications
- A relevant qualification in English or a related subject
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- An understanding of different digital and social media platforms
- An ability to build strong relationships with others
- A willingness to travel across the South of England when needed, to support in the delivery of our events and other PR opportunities.

Annual Leave: Starting at 24 days plus UK Public/Bank Holidays (pro-rata for part time) plus 1.5 days complimentary leave, along with the option to purchase additional leave.
