About us

Hastoe owns and manages more than 7,500 homes across the south of England from Devon to Norfolk. We are a social housing landlord and England’s leading rural housing specialist. We deliver small housing developments in partnership with local communities although, for historic reasons, we also own some housing in urban areas.

We are passionate about providing a first-class service for our customers. If you are enthusiastic, customer-focused, and passionate about making a difference to people’s lives, then we want to hear from you.

About the role

Our estate caretakers enjoy working with people, using their knowledge and experience to make a real difference to our residents. Our caretakers are a valued first point of contact for our residents while on the estate, maintaining and improving the estate grounds and monitoring the services we provide. If you’re a dab hand at getting practical, then we’d love to hear from you.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Keeping the estates clean and tidy, both inside and outside.
  • Cleaning the internal corridors and completing internal window clean.
  • Carrying out litter picking and bin area maintenance.
  • Helping residents, contractors and Hastoe colleagues on a daily basis.
  • Conducting and recording regular fire checks and ensuring they are accurately recorded.

About you

You will often be working alone, so need to be self-motivated to carry out your duties. You will take pride in doing a good job and keeping the estates in a clean and tidy condition.

You will be friendly and approachable, acting as the ‘eyes and ears’ of Hastoe on the scheme and regularly interacting with residents and contractors.

Previous experience in a similar role, although welcome, isn’t necessary.  We’re looking for the right person, with a can-do attitude, a willingness to learn and an enthusiasm to be part of our team.
