Hastoe sponsors Place Making Awards

Hastoe sponsored the Making Places Award at CPRE Hampshire's Countryside Awards 2018

Hastoe Chief Executive, Andrew Potter, spoke on place-making in rural areas and why he was proud to sponsor the award.

Land and New Business Manager, Karen Hilhouse, then introduced the 4 finalists:

  • Longstock Park Water Gardens, Leckford Estate
  • Hillier's Haven, Winchester City Council
  • Better Boundaries, New Forest Land Advice Service
  • Symonds Close, T2 Architects

The winners were Hillier's Haven - a recreational space for local residents in Abbotts Barton, Winchester, which was built on a derelict, impenetrable and forgotten piece of scrub land.

Andrew Potter said:

"It's a great honour to accept CPRE Hampshire’s invitation to sponsor and present this award. We're celebrating the times when we have got place-making right and created places that have truly enhanced rural communities."

"Congratulations to Hillier's Haven, along with all the finalists, and to CPRE Hampshire for orfanising such a great event."
