Three award wins in a month for Hastoe

Hastoe has won a Green Apple Award Gold, a Passivhaus Trust Award and an award from the LABC, all in one month.
Green apple award winner 2014The Green Apple Built Environment award recognises Hastoe’s commitment to environmental sustainability in the development of four affordable straw bales houses in High Ongar, Essex. Hastoe competed against over 500 other nominations to win this coveted Gold award.

The Passivhaus Trust award recognises Hastoe’s Burnham Overy Staithe Passivhaus development, in Norfolk, for Architectural Design by Parsons + Whittley Architects. This is one of three such developments that Hastoe has provided so far for those in need of affordable housing. Passivhaus developments are very eco-friendly andreduce residents’ fuel bills to around 10% of the average UK home.Passivhaus Trust award win

The hat trick win was an LABC Award for Best Affordable New Housing, again for High Ongar, in the
East Anglia Building Excellence category.

Hastoe’s Business Development Director, Kevin Hartnett, said: “To win three prestigious awards in the space of one month is a fantastic achievement. We faced some fierce competition from many key players in the housing sector.
