Hastoe wins 2011 Housing Hero Award

21 May 2011 Housing Heroes Winner 2011

Hastoe Housing Association has won a prestigious national award at a ceremony, hosted by the BBC news presenter George Alagiah, and organised by Inside Housing magazine and the Chartered Institute of Housing.

Hastoe’s housing management team was the winner of Tenant Empowerment Team of the Year, beating stiff competition from around the country.

Anne McLoughlin, Operations Director said: “Our approach to housing management has delivered a customer-led community based service, which has encouraged more and more residents to lead local strategies. We now have action plans covering over 250 localities; this award is recognition of the hard work and creative thinking that has gone into making them meaningful and practical.”
Ann Budgen, a resident board member at Hastoe, added: “I am thrilled for the team that they have won this prestigious award. I got involved as a mystery shopper, moved on to become a regional committee member and have now been a board member for nearly nine months. I have been supported all along the way. As a resident for over ten years, I hold an insight that is valuable and is valued. Long may it continue!”

The 2011 Housing Heroes Awards were sponsored by Capita Consulting, Capita Resourcing, Hays, Higgins, Insight, Lovell Partnership, United House and Walters Snowdon Advertising.
