Hastoe joins PlaceShapers

Hastoe joins the PlaceShapers group

PlaceShapers is a network of community-focused housing associations. All members have to sign up to the PlaceShaper ethos to:

  • Put residents and customers at the centre of what we do and ensure they have real influence on our organisations.
  • Provide more than just landlord services because we care about the people and places where we work.
  • Build homes that respond to local housing need.
  • Recognise the importance of a local focus and work actively with our local authorities and other local partners to improve and shape places at both a strategic and operational level.
  • Believe there's strength and benefit to residents and stakeholders in maintaining a strong, independent, diverse, values-driven housing association sector.

Hastoe Chief Executive, Andrew Potter, said:

“It’s fantastic Hastoe is joining PlaceShapers. We hope to add distinctive rural voice to the organisation and make the case for quality place-making when we build new affordable homes in Rural England. PlaceShapers’ and Hastoe’s values are closely aligned in that we don’t just build homes, but look to create sustainable communities. I’m looking forward to working with PlaceShapers in the coming years and learning from best practice in the social housing sector.”

PlaceShapers chair, Sinead Butters, said:

“We welcome Hastoe as our newest member. The diversity of our membership is testimony to diversity of our communities. All PlaceShapers are driven by social purpose. We build more than homes - we shape communities and unite around shared values as a voice for change. This year our focus is the breadth and impact of how members care for residents and communities. Our We Care Day, when members pledged almost 3000 hours to go ‘over and above’, helped show this. Whilst we take great care in providing high-quality homes that are safe and well maintained, we also focus on the people who live in them, working with them and our wider partners to ensure we provide what’s needed.”
