These homes are being developed to meet the local housing need in Hartley Whitney. Therefore, to live in one of our new homes you will need to have a local connection with the Parish. A local connection is when you or a member of your household currently lives in the Parish, has lived in the Parish previously, is employed in the Parish or has immediate family living in the Parish.

We are planning to build 17 new homes.

The homes will include 11 homes for rent, made up of:

  • Four 1-bed flats
  • Five 2-bed houses
  • Two 3-bed houses

And 3 homes for shared ownership, made up of:

  • One 2-bedroom house
  • Two 3-bedroom houses.

The remaining three homes are self-build plots which will be retained by the landowner.

We are looking to submit a planning application in August 2021, and hope to begin works on the site in spring 2022.

We’re aiming to have completed the new homes by summer 2023.

The rent levels are not yet set, but will be in line with Government's affordable housing guidelines.

The rent will be no greater than the Local Housing Allowance for Hartley Wintney. The rental values will be set in good time before the properties are finished, but as an indication you could be looking at paying up to the following amounts per week if the homes were available today:

  • £156.92 for a 1-bed flat
  • £193.53 for a 2-bed house
  • £222.85 for a 3-bed house

To apply for a rented property, you'll need to register for housing with Hart District Council.

The estimated sales value for the 2-bedroom shared ownership homes is:

  • £285,000

Buyers will need to purchase a minimum share of 10% at:

  • £43,750

We have been working closely with Hartley Wintney Parish Council and Hart District Council throughout the development process.

MH Architects have drawn up the provisional plans for the site and new homes, and Ridge Concultancy are the employer's agent.

The building contractor is yet to be confirmed.
