Sir Alan Haselhurst MP helps commemorate start of new homes for Saffron Walden, Essex
8 March 2010
Sir Alan Haselhurst MP will help Hastoe commemorate the start of building works for twenty-five new affordable homes in Saffron Walden on Saturday 13 March at 10am. Sir Alan will help the turning of the earth using an excavator and be joined by project partners.
The project, to be built on the site of the recently demolished Lancaster House adjacent to Bell Language School, will provide one and two bedroom rented and shared ownership apartments for people in Saffron Walden and the surrounding area.
It is supported by Uttlesford District Council and the Homes and Communities Agency, who provided funding.
They will be built in a sympathetic style next to the Bell Language School, a Victorian building, which will be renovated by a private developer and converted into luxury apartments for sale on the open market together with some newly built houses.
Hastoe’s regional development team is based in Little Chesterford and along with colleagues in the South and West, have been shortlisted for the CIH Inside Housing Development Team of the Year 2009.
Anyone who is interested in a rented home on the proposed development should contact Ulrike Maccariello on 01799 533497 and email: umaccariello@hastoe.com or for shared ownership enquiries, please call the Sales Team on 0800 783 3097.
