Aids and adaptations – how we can help you remain independent in your home

Hastoe works closely with Occupational Therapists (OTs) to ensure that our residents are safe and remain as independent as possible within their own homes. We recognise that good housing is vital to the independence of disabled people, older people and those with poor health.

Adapting a resident’s home contributes to the sense of well being for many and the ability of residents to manage their own lives with support when they need it.

Hastoe can provide a range of minor adaptations to help residents improve their quality of life, such as:

· handrails
· lever taps to wash basins, sinks and baths
· grab rails
· additional rails to stairs

If a major adaptation is required such as level access shower or a stair lift then it may mean that more extensive structural alteration is required. If this is the case, we will work with an occupational therapist to get the best solution, and secure funding for the work.

If you would like further information, please contact Hastoe Direct on 0300 123 2250.
