Paying your Rent

Rent is due in advance on the 1st of each month. It is a condition of your tenancy that you pay regularly and on time.

There are a number of different ways to pay your rent, and when you first start your tenancy and become a Hastoe customer, your Area Housing Manager will explain these to you and you can then decide which method suits you. If you cannot pay in your usual way, you should make other arrangements rather than delaying payment. If there is a problem, tell your Area Housing Manager. For further details of each payment method contact your Area Housing Manager.

Methods of Payment

Swipe Card
To order a swipe card, please contact your Area Housing Manager. You can use your swipe card to pay in the following ways:
  • At the Post Office by cash, cheque or debit card
  • At Paypoint or Payzone outlets by cash
  • Over the telephone by calling 0870 770 0472, by debit card only

    Standing Order
    This is an instruction to your bank to make regular payment from your bank account. If you would like to use this method of payment, please contact your Area Housing Manager who will be happy to post you the necessary standing order form or download the form here.

    Internet Banking
    If you bank online, you can set up either a one off or a regular payment using the following bank details. Please ensure you quote your 6 digit tenant reference or leaseholder number.

    Housing Benefit
    You will need to contact the local authority that pays your Housing Benefit. The local authority will ask you to complete and sign a form that enables them to pay us direct.

    Post
    You can post us a crossed cheque made payable to the relevant Housing association - full names are below. Please mark your 6 digit tenant reference number clearly on the reverse of your cheque. We cannot accept post-dated cheques and please do not post cash, as we cannot take responsibility for any losses of cash sent through the post.

    Please post your cheque to our main office address, not your regional office, using the following freepost address. Simply write FREEPOST HASTOE in capital letters on the envelope. Do not add any other details such as a postcode.
